TRAINING SERIES “WATCHMAN ON THE WALL” WITH APOSTLE DR. PAUL GITWAZA

The “Watchman on the Wall” training series, led by Apostle Dr. Paul Gitwaza on Saturday, February 24th, 2024, was specifically designed for global Asaph and Global Evangelism. Focused on the life of Authentics as God’s great vessels, the series provided guidance on how we should navigate these end times. Undoubtedly, it was a blessing for the church of God to have such a meaningful series during this season.

An Authentic as God’s efficient instrument

In my understanding, it appears that God takes greater pleasure in utilising a man rather than an angel, given that a man is created in God’s own image. When a man engages in the work of God, it resonates as if God Himself is directly involved in the task. God works through us, not through angels. As ambassadors or representatives, we carry out the work designated for us, distinctly different from the tasks of angels.

An authentic individual is God’s great vessel, compared to three things:

  • A Trumpet
  • A Torch
  • A Hammer

One day, as Apostle Gitwaza was returning from Holland to preach, he carried the weight of sorrow, mourning the recent passing of his mother-in-law. In the midst of his grief, he heard a voice declaring, “You are my vessel.” The voice drew a comparison between him and Callixte’s car which he was in, emphasising that, like the car guided by its driver, he had no other choice but to go where he was directed. We are vessels chosen by God to do his work.

A Trumpet

Joel 2:1,15

Blow the trumpet in Zion, And sound an alarm in My holy mountain!Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble; For the day of the Lord is coming, For it is at hand:

15 Blow the trumpet in Zion, Consecrate a fast,, call a sacred assembly.

Mark 1:2-3

2 As it is written in the Prophets: “Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, Who will prepare Your way before You. 3 “The voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord; Make His paths straight.’ ”

God is in the process of preparing an army to announce His imminent arrival, as His day draws near. Similar to how John the Baptist acted as a trumpet’s voice, paving the way for the first coming of the Messiah, authentic Christians are called to proclaim and prepare for His second coming.

These Authentics are scattered across the four corners of the world. While some are recognized openly, others are kept in secret until the day of the Lord. However, all of them are diligently preparing for the second coming of the great King, the Lord of lords, Jesus Christ. They bear a prophetic message aimed at preparing nations, tongues, and tribes for the imminent return of Jesus.

The trumpet serves as a prophetic voice, declaring and proclaiming the imminent arrival of the King of Glory. Comparable to the trumpet sounded by Amos to rouse the Israelites, and to this day, that same resounding voice continues to echo.

Amos 4:12

Prepare to meet your God, O Israel!

A Torch

Authentic Christians are torches illuminating the entire world. In this age of perversion, they shine brightly, unwavering in their dedication to bring light to the darkest corners where the lost can follow Jesus, the Light of the world.

Philippians 2:15

15 That you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world

Revelation 8:3

Winds and storms want to stop their fire, but it is impossible because that fire comes from the golden altar of a sweet scent that is before the throne of God.

Authentic Christians are shining torches, they are good examples for many people and they are covered with the armour of the light.

Romans 13:12-13

12 The night is far spent; the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. 13 Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy

People of God, the time has come for us to walk in honesty, becoming shining examples for our friends, brothers, and sisters who have not yet found salvation. Through our virtuous deeds, we have the power to draw many towards Jesus. Hallelujah!

John 8:12

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.

John 9:5

As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world

The torch is nothing more than a life full of the Holy Spirit, the manifestation of the Holy Spirit in us, we are the light of the world! Isn’t this a big challenge to us?

Mark 4:5, 16-17

5 Some fell on stony ground, where it did not have much earth; and immediately it sprang up

because it had no depth of earth

16 These likewise are the ones sown on stony ground who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with gladness. 17 And they have no root in themselves, and so endure only for a time. Afterward, when tribulation or persecution arises for the word’s sake, immediately they stumble.”

A Hammer

A rock is made of many strong stones that make one body with the earth. In the Bible, rocky stones symbolise a resistant heart, unwilling to accept the good news. Many people show reluctance to hear the word of God or messages from His messengers. When they are exposed to preaching, they often become hardened in their hearts.

Jeremiah 23:29

29 “Is not My word like a fire?” says the Lord, “And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?

Ezekiel 36:26

I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.

Apostle Gitwaza proceeded saying how the world has evolved into a realm of rationalism, materialism, and modernism, leading many to reject or deny the authenticity of the word of God. Some go to the extent of denying the existence of God and, even more grievously, questioning the divinity of Jesus as the way, truth, and life. We are dwelling in times of unprecedented hostility, making it exceedingly challenging to preach the word of God. Men and women of God are often despised, subjected to abuse, and unjustly blamed.

Matthew 5:14-16

5 Some fell on stony ground, where it did not have much earth; and immediately it sprang up because it had no depth of earth

14 You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Christianity has become a stumbling stone for other religions. Regrettably, even within the Christian community, some have compromised the truth of the Word. However, the heart of the Father remains with His sons and daughters. God is actively preparing His children to stand as witnesses to His authentic Word in the midst of this disoriented and hostile world.

Authentic words and preaching go beyond mere theological expressions of human knowledge; they are rooted in the demonstration of the Spirit’s power. It is only the word guided by the Spirit that can break the stony hearts.True sermons emerge from the heart of God. God is utilising authentic Christians as instruments, like hammers, to break through the hardness of hearts.

1 Corinthians 2:4

4 And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power

The hammer is the word wielded by the anointed preacher, drawing inspiration from the heart of God. This powerful word has the capacity to break and crush proud and hardened hearts.
