BOARD CHAIR PERSON

Prof. Alfred R. Bizoza:  is a PhD holder and a Professor of Agricultural Economics from the University of Rwanda (UR) with extensive academic and policy research experience in areas of Agricultural Economics, Institutional Economics of Soil and Water Conservation, Economics of Land, and Economics of Climate Change Adaptation. He has contributed to several policy and strategic research both in Rwanda and elsewhere in Africa. He served as an Economist Board member of the Central Bank of Rwanda. He has been visiting scholars to several universities including Michigan State University in the USA and University of Cambridge in the UK.  He facilitated several seminars and public lectures in different parts of Africa, Europe, Asia, and USA. He published different books scientific and inspirational. He combines the teaching of the gospel with his academia, policy research and research mentorship to young scholars and policy researchers. Prof. Alfred R. Bizoza is the Founder President of the High Lands Centre of Leadership for Development HLC-L4D), a research mentorship centre based in Kigali-Rwanda. Importantly, Prof. Alfred R. Bizoza is a Born-Again Christian, he is married and God has blessed his family with five children.

BOARD DEPUTY CHAIR PERSON

Claudine DUSHIMIMANA is a National Prosecutor and a Part-time Lecturer at the Institute of Legal Practice and Development. She is a member of High Council of Prosecution and other Boards and Committees like the Executive Committee of the East Africa Association of Prosecutors, Board of Trustees of Zion Temple Celebration Center, Board of Administration of AEE and National Technical Committee on Counter Trafficking in Person, among others.

Previously Claudine served on different positions; she has been a Chief Prosecutor at Intermediate Level and a Project Coordinator within the National Public Prosecution Authority as well as a full time Lecturer at Kigali Independent University in the Faculty of Law.

She is an International Visitor Leadership Program alumni and has a Master’s degree in Comparative Public Law and Good Governance. Additionally, Claudine has a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice and a Certificate in Specialization in International Crimes and Genocide Ideology.

She is experienced in different fields including criminal law, administrative law, international criminal law and human trafficking.

BOARD MEMBER

CONSOLATTA RUBONEKA

Mrs. Consolatta Ruboneka is a notable entrepreneur and the CEO of many companies, Hotel des Milles Collines among others, which is one of the greatest Hotel   in Rwanda, and she recently embraced the industry of quarrying and mining.

She was born in Rwanda and grew up in Burundi after she went to the University of Louvain La Neuve in Belgium for tourism studies. She married the great pan-Africanist and the father of mobile telecommunication in Africa, the late Rwayitare Miko Alexis and she is the mother of two children.

When she came back to settle in Rwanda, she had a great burden for the widows and started supporting genocide’s widows in the country. Despite being a great businesswoman, she is a committed Christian in Zion temple Celebration Center (Gatenga), where she is the chairperson of the Authentic Business Club, a forum of all entrepreneurs in ZTCC, under the umbrella of Dr. Apostle Paul Gitwaza.

JOHN NKUBANA

John Nkubana, National Director of Compassion Rwanda: John joined Compassion as Country Director in August 2012. Before joining Compassion, John worked in the Ministry of Trade and Industry as the Program Manager of Industrial development and as the Acting Director General of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development. He also worked as the Executive Director of Ameki: the biggest paint, water tank manufacturer, and furniture workshop in the country. Prior to this, he worked as Finance Manager of Action Aid in Rwanda as well as Finance Manager of the American Refugee Committee in Rwanda for three years. John holds an M.B.A. in Finance from Maastricht School of Management in the Netherlands and a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Daystar University in Kenya. John is an ordained Pastor in Zion Temple Celebration Center, Rwanda. John is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Authentic Word Ministries and Zion Temple Celebration Center, Rwanda.

BOARD MEMBER

JONAS

Jonas is an Economist and Policy Analyst who has worked within the public and private sectors in Rwanda and East Africa since 2012. He assumed notable positions within Rwanda’s public sector specifically in Rwanda’s Ministry of Trade and Industry for 10 years and has a proven track record of delivering results leveraging his expertise in strategic planning, sectorial policy development, coordination and stakeholder engagement, policy dialogue and analysis, Monitoring and Evaluation, organizational development, and sustainable development. 

In the last 12 years, Jonas has worked closely with sectors such as trade, industry, investment, agribusiness, SMEs, entrepreneurship, regional integration, investment, and youth employment with a solid understanding of other cross-cutting issues such as gender, climate change, and the environment. He consulted for national and international organizations, including the UN agencies, and has been serving on different boards of directors.  

Mr. Jonas has MSc in International Relations and Diplomacy from Mount Kenya University and BSc in Economics from the University of Rwanda. He is now finalizing his second MSc in International Trade Policy and Trade Law from Lund University, Sweden. Jonas is a devout born-again Christian who firmly believes in the transformative power of faith and strives to live his life according to the teachings of Jesus Christ.
